Lliving with Pets: Pet-Related Injuries
Last night my dog gave me a black eye.
Today I have to go to a meeting with Very Important Clients, Builders, and Contractors and makeup is not going to cover this baby up.
I can't tell you how glad I am that we've all been working together for more than 18 months, so, hopefully they will not think that I'm an abused spouse.
Nope, I'm just a short woman who played fetch with a tall, bouncy dog, and who got clobbered when she glanced away for a moment.
Life with pets - it's not easy.
So, anyone else sustain a pet-related injury that they would like to share? Come on, please make me feel a little better about this one!

Okay, if it'll make you feel better. :)
Once Dakota was lying on his back on the floor. I was on the floor, petting his stomach, and he started acting silly and waving his paws around.
One of the giant paws hit me in the face. His sandpaper-like paw pad scraped from the top of my eyebrow, down over my eye, and halfway down my cheek.
Damn, that hurt, and for a week or so, I looked like I'd gotten into a knife fight.
I'm not sure if you're a "Lost" fan, but I looked like John Locke right after the crash.
But no one ever believes the real story, do they? Remember the "I Love Lucy" where Ricky accidentally hit Lucy in the eye with a book? :)
Miss J has had more pet-play injuries than she can recall. The worst was probably when she tossed a ball for Junior to fetch. He was behind her and plowed into her at full speed. The forsce of him caused her to fall backwards and she landed on a very large, sharp stone. Her butt was cut and had a bruise the size o a softball for weeks. At least no one could see it but it really hurt to sit.
Oh, OUCH, Miss Janey! :o
I had a little 20-30 pound dog run into me at the dog park. He hit me so hard, he knocked me off my feet and threw me into the air (I weigh 220 lbs!). It was pretty embarrassing, but I wasn't too hurt.
Thanks you guys, you've made me feel a little better. Maybe it's just that pet lovers can commiserate without actually blaming the animals all that much!
I'm on day three of the black eye, and I've got to say that it is damned colorful right about now. Oy. I'm finding it weirdly amusing but embarassing, and I would much rather NOT HAVE A BLACK EYE! From what I've read, it's going to take about a week for all the sunset of colors to go away.
